‘Cut and rotate’ is a design exercise, processing a transformation of a dreamed by majority Polish people
typical detached-houses with a slanting roof. As a result of cutting and turning, individual parts of the
house are giving a possibility to convert this in a chain of different typology. Engraved ‘roofscape’ has a
direct impact on the urban design. Particular roof’s parts, opening inwards, create ‘windows’, provide
better lighting to the accommodation, give new capabilities for windows and for interaction between
householders. The final structure of the house would be an effect of a programmed size, plot’s peculiarity
and customers preferences.
